Has anybody looked at this game? Yeah, I have been ignoring it for about a year - but I saw the commercial on TV and thought it looked nifty.
Have been watching the videos over on their site, and it is kind of hit and miss. I do like the Ascended Class System they have though.
WoW dumbed down and the ACS thing looks nice and complicated, lol.

I had been ignoring it for about a year I guess, only paying attention during the time they were discussing the Siembieda trademark lawsuit (used to play a lot of Palladium Books paper RPGs back in the day).
Then over the past weekend, I guess it was, I saw the We're not in Azeroth anymore commercial. Decided to go look at their website.
It is funny how much the UI looks like the WoW UI, but then again - the WoW UI was not exactly original. I think the graphics are light years ahead of the WoW graphics... but still, it was not really enough for me to give it any kind of look.

And compared to the dumbing down of trees and classes in WoW, yes this, definitely grabbed my attention.
Doubt I will get in, but I registered at the site for their next beta segment.

So I have tooled around with a few toons so far, and I have to say though some of the base mechanics are the same old same old (they kind of are in all games); the thing that drew me to the game - the Ascended Class System is pretty damn neat.
Outside of EVE and early UO, I've never really felt like I could make the character that I wanted to make.
Sure, you are confined by your base class - Warrior, Rogue, Cleric, Mage... but hey, that is what most of us that dabbled in PnP started with as well. I actually prefer the way they handle this compared to DDO.
I am a little concerned about how balance will play out and how easy it might be to gimp a toon based on the options, but having those options is a treat.
