KOTOR Problems

I am having problems getting KOTOR to run. When I first installed it, I was getting an error message the there was a Serceurom emulator problem. No I don't use any emulators anymore (ie Daemon tools, etc). After a google search, I came up with a changed .exe file.

It worked. Until a couple days later, after a reboot, I started getting the same message. I re-downloaded the file, but this time, when I use the new .exe I get the generic vista message that KOTOR has stopped working... every time. I tried it in XP compatibility mode (properties > compatibility tab), but no change.

I'm running Vista Home Premium. Any ideas how to fix this. It is pissing me off because I am home from work today and had a big block of time to play. /grr

Did you reinstall? I understand this may be an issue with the 1.03 patch. So if you do reinstall, don't patch it!

Sorry for the slow response. Life has been unmanagable the last 4-5 days. But I did get a chance to reinstall over the weekend and the game is working again (unpatched) with a little patience. It crashes on start-up often, but if I keep trying, it eventually will start... and it hasn't crashed during play yet... knock on wood.

I'm still on the first planet. I need to move faster or the game needs to get more interesting... one or the other.
