My warrior is 58 now... almost 59. I solo'd 90% of the way through. I have bad equiptment... mostly. Most importantly, I am a bad tank. Ok, not bad, but clueless. Now I find myself needing to go to instances to get some items, but i don't want to embarass myself not knowing how to tank well for a group. Raids are something completely foreign to me. Give me some advice.
How clueless am I you ask? Well, I am in battle stance 99% of the time. When soloing there isn't much need for anything else. So Defense Stance is pretty much unknown to me. As far as skills... well, MS, HS, Overpower and Sunder Armor are my bread and butter. Revenge? Shield Skills? Whirlwind? Mocking Blow? I am clueless on these.
Oddly I am much better with my priest in a group than with my warrior.
OH OH... I forgot to tell you, I looted a Glowing Brightwood Staff last weekend while grinding on undead in the Western Plaguelands. That is some awesome loot. It self for 800-1000g on my server. I haven't decided yet whether to give it to my priest to use or if I should sell it.

Anyways... warriors are extremely easy. Too easy =]
In defensive stance, there are 5 important things to worry about.
1. Bloodrage. You'll want to be protection specified in your talents and get improved bloodrage. This is how you start off fights. Hit Bloodrage and start tanking.
2. Taunt. After you get Bloodrage going, you want to SPAM this on your target. Improved Taunt is on an 8 second timer, rather than 10 seconds. It's much better to have improved taunt for instances so you can let your party own the shit while you take the damage.
3. Sunder Armor. You want to hit your target with Sunder Armor 5 times before concentrating on other attacks. The debuff indicators on the target bar should tell you how many Sunder Armors you have on your target. You want to hit your target occasionally with Sunder Armor to keep the debuff on.
4. Revenge. Revenge is a life saver. It deals A LOT of aggro with using only 5 rage. If you get improved Revenge, you have a chance at stunning the target for 3 seconds (which is useful, trust me). USE THIS WHENEVER YOU CAN! You can only use it after you dodge, block, or parry.
5. Heroic Strike. Heroic strike is what you use AFTER you've done all of these (except taunt and revenge, because you do that all the time anyways). This deals a lot of threat and keeps the target focused on you.
Never ever ever ever tank in anything other than Defensive Stance!
Other stuff that is good to know:
Shield Block. This is your friend. Without Improved Shield Block, you can block %75 of the damage generated by an attack. With Improved Shield Block, you can block up to 2 hits.
Shield Slam. This owns. It does a lot of damage and is perfect for the off-tank.
Concussion Blow. This stuns the target for 3 seconds and buys time for heals / damage.
