The JC poop thing I think made the point for many people. Muslims were upset about cartoons involving Mohammed. Everybody was like, it is no big deal. Mohammed is basically not their Prophet. The JC thing touched upon something for people. They got ticked off. It came down to saying it was okay to make fun or slight of Mohammed but not of JC. While I do not approve of the poop thing, it was a childish act - which was meant to portray the childish behavior of the whole thing.
Personally, my favorite episode is the voting episode with PETA.

I love South Park. It's still my favorite show. However, they have become a little preachy in recent years. Oh well, I'll watch tonights new episode. I hope it's actually funny instead of being some social commentary.
