All L4D team members

We kill zombies too

So now that we're starting to get a little more serious about improving our Left 4 Dead skills, I'd like to say a few words about matches and scrimmages.

Since we're all adults here, I'll dispense with the usual gobble-e-gook about showing up on time for matches, etc. Here's a few bullet points to those of you who would like to participate in structured competitively play. For those of you who don't, this doesn't apply to you.
  • It is your responsibility to read these forums on a regular basis and be aware of when the matches are. We are trying to get more disciplined about getting our team together first before we confirm a match. However, due to the difficulty in getting some of these matches together, this is not always possible. We ask you to be patient in these circumstances.
  • In each match or scrimmage, ONE person will be designated as Team Leader. Generally, this will be the person who sets the match, or a person designated by him/her. With responsibility comes authority. The TL usually has to get everyone together, co-ordinate and sometimes even report scores afterward. Although we welcome input from every team member before, during, and after matches, the final say on in-game strategies will be that of the TL. You will be expected to do your part and be a good follower. Left 4 Dead is one of those games when played at higher levels, being out-of-position can be very costly. Disputes can be resolved after the game is over.
  • Those members who are the most involved will be the ones who will have first choice on whether they get to play. For better or for worse, only 4 people can play in a L4D match, and it would be unfair to have someone who hasn't been around for practices, etc be able to take a slot away from those who have. Of course, with the quality people we have in this clan I expect that there will be times when someone will step aside to let another play.
  • Everyone got into this clan to have fun. As a clan, MG has a long-standing reputation for making the game fun for everyone. If you feel you can't do that, you should definitely consider sitting out these games. If over a an extended period of time you feel that you find yourself constantly frustrated in games and unable to keep from griping to either your own team or the opposition, you should consider finding another clan to call your own.
  • NO ONE in this clan is an expert in any facet of the game. Anyone who has played in our first few matches should be extremely well aware of this. We're ALL here to learn and get better. Having said this - don't keep great ideas to yourself - we're ALL itching to learn. Make sure you share these ideas constructively!
That's about it for now. Just a few things that have been on my mind these last few days. If you have any questions about these policies, or would like to discuss them, don't be shy about replying to this thread. This clan belongs to every member, and your input is the only way we can make it better!
peace,
-p.
