We decided awhile ago to standardize on Xfire for P2P communication, for many reasons: its ability to communicate in-game and out - regardless of game type, its voice features, etc. Also, in my own personal case, I will no longer be available on Steam during the day. So if you need to IM me, Xfire is the best way.
If you don't have it installed, please take a moment now to do it at Xfire's download page. After you install, I highly recommend deleting the "Sample Friend" and unchecking the "Show Friends of my friends" option (http://www.xfire.com/faq/#188) this will prevent the boiler-room types from spamming you.
Also, please let everyone know what your Xfire name is so we can add you. Mine is prattster.
