I especially like the liar liar quote at the end.

Adit:

Lol, I'll admit the second one is funny because well... it's funny. A good joke always has a bit of sarcastic truth in it. As a matter of fact, the funniest jokes aren't the ones that are black-and-white true, but rather have shades of truth and shades of opposite-opinion distortion.

The first one is just... weak. As is a lot of this unnecessary bruhaha over L4D2. Besides the SDK issue - and let's face it - Valve has ALWAYS said the SDK to a game would closely follow a game and it never does, nothing else in this video actually constitutes a LIE. Valve still has plenty of time to make all of those assertions come true, and they know it.

It still remains to be seen if they will actually support L4D and L4D2 simultaneously. People - as usual - are complaining about a game they can't even play for another 5 months. This is HL2 all over again. People screaming up and down about all of Valve's trickery and lies, and threatening boycotts and all other manner of useless bullshit. And then they buy the game.

Only time will tell if Valve deserved to have $100 of your money for both games. In the meantime, do yourselves a favor and...

LET IT GO!!

The lines I like from the 1st vid are at the...

2:00 mark. talking about l4d2 "coming up with more campaigns more weapons more monsters."
At 2:08 talking about original l4d "probably most likly we'll see; maybe new campaign and maybe some new weapons and new monsters to go with that campaign."
At 3:10 talking about original l4d "similar to what we've done with TF2 with shipping new missions, new weapons, and achievements, and new characters.

Its a pretty good bet we are not going to get any new characters or weapons from valve for the original l4d. (hopefully the community takes up the slack.)

My main problem with l4d2 is splittling up the community. And some stupid little things I don't want to have to launch 2 games. (I hope they can at least make so I can be able to load 1 menu for both games) I admit small petty things but they matter to me.
And I'm curious when this went from the realm of update to whole new game. Was it that they got to a point that it was just so much content they really needed to make a new game? Or did they talk to the console people and found out that they would rather release this as a new stand alone game for Xbox users?

I know I will buy the game. But if its another $50 I will probably wait a few months for a nice sale. And I'm also pretty sure I'm going to cancel the server, when l4d2 is released, till I decide which game I want it for. (If any) Pretty much gonna wait to see which game I like better and what direction the community is leaning towards.

I won't take part of the boycott group cause I'm pretty sure I'll buy it and alot of things they are compaining about seem nitpicky to me. (exp complaining about the fiddle music?!? just turn down the music audio in options. And they don't like the new characters. You don't even know them.)

I won't join the acceptance group, cause I don't accept whats happening easily. (and their seems to be a condescending attitude in that group brushing off differing opinions as if they had no valid points.

If anything I'm tolerant of whats going on. I don't like it but I'll deal with it. Like when you are on a plane and there is a screaming child. You don't have to like that the baby is screaming, but hopefully you do tolerate it.

Maybe I need to join a tolerance group. :P

I know acceptance has many connotations and can be taken to mean the samething as tolarance. But I think that group is using the word in a more positve light. (exp: accepting with open arms. as opposed to; Accepting a bad situation.)

I'm just in a wait and see mode right now. I just hope it all turns out for the best.
